🤖 Android App Progress
The Android build has been completed and will soon be submitted to Google for beta testing.
We are actively looking for beta testers to help identify issues, improve performance, and refine the user experience before full release.
🧠 Data Structuring & Taxonomy Improvements
A major internal focus is now shifting toward taxonomy and data normalization across the platform.
Arrest charge data varies significantly between counties and agencies, often describing the same offense in different formats. This creates challenges in:
- Parsing charge data
- Grouping similar offenses
- Building consistent search and filter systems
To address this, TexArrest is developing:
- Standardized charge categorization
- Browsable offense categories
- Improved data cleaning and normalization pipelines
These improvements will enable more intuitive browsing, filtering, and search capabilities across the site.
⚖️ Ongoing Compliance & Data Integrity
TexArrest continues to publish arrest records sourced from official county booking records at the time of publication. These records reflect historical booking events and are presented for informational purposes only.
As outlined in our policies, records remain published in accordance with applicable law and are only removed when legally required.
🚀 What’s Next
- Completion of county indexing backlog
- Historical data expansion (multi-year backfill)
- Android beta launch
- Continued improvements to taxonomy and user navigation
TexArrest remains committed to building a more structured, transparent, and accessible platform for public record data across Texas.
