2.4 User-Submitted Annotations
If an individual submits a case status annotation:
- TexArrest may collect limited identifying information sufficient to evaluate the request (such as name, email address, and supporting documentation when voluntarily submitted).
- TexArrest may store the selected structured status category.
- Supporting documentation may be collected if voluntarily submitted.
User-submitted annotations are displayed publicly once approved.
TexArrest reviews submissions for completeness but does not independently investigate or verify the underlying court outcome unless legally required.
Submission of an annotation does not alter the underlying public record.

The application may collect:

- Analyze aggregate usage trends
- Improve performance and usability
- Comply with legal obligations
TexArrest does not sell, rent, or broker personal data.
4. Mugshots & Public Record Handling
4.1 Mugshot Sources
Mugshots are obtained from publicly accessible law enforcement systems where such images are made available as part of arrest or booking records.
4.2 Image Availability & Retention
Some agencies remove booking images after a defined period. When a mugshot is publicly available:
- TexArrest may retrieve the image at the time of access
- A copy may be stored and displayed as part of the historical arrest record
The continued display of an image reflects its lawful public availability at the time of collection and archival retrieval, and does not imply current custody, guilt, or ongoing publication by the originating agency.
4.3 Corrections, Review & Legal Removal
TexArrest provides a free process to request review or correction of inaccurate information.
Removal of arrest records occurs only when legally required, such as when a valid court order of expunction, nondisclosure, or sealing is provided, or when the record is factually incorrect.
Under Texas law, dismissals, reduced charges, or canceled cases do not automatically require removal of arrest records unless a qualifying court order is issued.
Requests may be submitted using our Removal Request Form.
4.4 Copyright Concerns
If you believe copyrighted material has been improperly displayed on TexArrest, you may submit a written notice to legal@texarrest.com including sufficient information to identify the content and the basis for the claim.
