TexArrest Update #2 — Mobile App Roadmap & Development Status

As TexArrest continues to expand, here’s an update on the mobile app roadmap, backend development, and the overall direction of the platform.

📱 iOS & Android App Plans

TexArrest is evolving into a complete multi-platform ecosystem.
The long-term goal is to release official TexArrest apps for both iOS and Android, with features such as:

  • Daily arrest feeds
  • County and city-level browsing
  • Texas Most Wanted directories
  • Push notifications for new arrests or major updates
  • Saved/offline viewing (planned)
  • Clean, mobile-friendly mugshot and offense browsing

These apps will mirror the site’s functionality and eventually introduce app-exclusive tools.

🧱 Full-Stack Development in Progress

A significant amount of backend engineering is underway, because the apps depend on a stable, scalable data foundation. Current work includes:

  • Enhancing TexArrest’s scraper engine
  • Expanding and refining the offense taxonomy + sanitizing system
  • Building API infrastructure for mobile app use
  • Improving automation for posting, categorization, and stability
  • Increasing resilience, error handling, and data accuracy

Once the backend is fully standardized across counties, the mobile builds will move much faster.

🏢 LLC & Developer Account Status

TexArrest now operates under ByteOmen LLC, which is fully registered and active in the state of Texas.

The LLC provides:

  • A professional identity for TexArrest
  • A necessary legal buffer between myself and the platform
  • Protection due to the sensitive nature of publishing public arrest records, mugshots, and criminal information
  • A safeguard against personal threats or harassment that can come with posting this type of data

With the LLC complete, the next steps are:

  • Applying for the Apple Developer Program under the LLC
  • Completing Google Play Developer business verification
  • Preparing branding, legal documents, and compliance materials required for both stores

This formal structure ensures TexArrest launches as a legitimate, secure, and protected software publisher.

🔀 Juggling Multiple ByteOmen Projects

TexArrest is one of several active development projects under ByteOmen, including:

  • Invoicinator
  • GameDayBaby
  • Several backend utilities and automation tools

All projects move forward on staggered cycles, but TexArrest is currently the central focus due to its growth, complexity, and public demand.

⏳ What This Means for the Timeline

  • Mobile apps are still planned, but backend stability is the top priority
  • Now that the LLC is fully registered, Apple/Google onboarding can move forward
  • County expansion and taxonomy sanitization cleanup remain key milestones
  • Once the backend reaches a unified structure, cross-platform apps will progress rapidly

More development milestones will be posted here as they occur.
